If Grief is a Sunken Ship

If grief is a sunken ship, than joy is the memories of the wind catching sail,

gliding with ease over that same ocean.

It is not the sea at fault, but the halt of momentum in our lives

which grief may take roots.

Drop hold of your attachment to what serves you not and swim to surface again.

The path may be cold, and currents strong

but life will surely grasp you up and fill your lungs again.

For you are not finished this journey dear,

and before long joy will bloom in your life again.
